The Children's Choir

The Children’s Choir, directed by Carrington Wise, includes children in SR-K through 3rd grade and rehearses each Wednesday during Koinonia. The choir sings one Sunday a month during the 9:00 a.m. liturgy. Children learn the basics of music and singing through a varied offering including Orff instruments. Part singing is also a component in this training.

Carrington is the music teacher at St. George's Independent Schools Memphis Campus and also sings with The Calvary Choir. She brings a wealth of experience to this position having studied with both Helen Kemp and Michael Kemp, nationally-recognized teachers in the area of children's choirs and children's voices.

Calvary Ringers (The Handbell Choir)
Led by Karla Philipp, this choir rehearses weekly and presents music at various times during the year. Experience is not necessary although an ability to read music does help. The choir uses a four-octave set of Schulmerich Handbells and a three-octave set of Petit & Fritzen handbells.

The Summer Choir

Calvary's Summer Choir sings during June, July, and August for the 10:00 a.m. liturgy. This group is an amalgam of singers from Calvary Choir, Parish Choir and some junior singers. Members of the congregation who can't commit to the choir schedule during the school year also join for this relaxing music making experience. The choir rehearses on three Wednesday evenings (May 27, June 15, & July 17) and then meets at 9:30 a.m. each Sunday morning, prior to the 10:00 a.m. service. Please contact the Organist-Choirmaster for more information or to sign up.
